L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil || Review

I picked up the “6 Oil Nourish Range” from L’Oreal(available in India) a while ago and have been trying out the entire range to know how they all work together and independently. I have already shared my thoughts on the Shampoo and Conditioner from the line (Click HERE to read that post). The Extraordinary Oil was the first thing that caught my attention from the line. Given the claims, I had very high hopes from this oil, but I am sad to say that I was not impressed.

I think:

The biggest issue I have with this oil is that it contains 68% Mineral oil. Mineral Oil has never worked for my hair in the past. When I read that the oil contains 6 different oils (Argan, Olive, Almond, Coconut, Jojoba & Camelina oils) I was really excited to get the goodness of 6 amazing oils in one bottle. After reading the ingredients list, I thought that I would rather buy some or all of those oils, mix them up and use them. It would be expensive but at least I will get the real thing. If you don't mind using mineral oil, then please do ignore my rant.

Anyways, keeping my rant aside, I would not recommend using it as hair serum (as suggested on the back side of the bottle), because it is greasy for that purpose. The bottle is made of glass and it leaks, making it incredibly tough to travel with. The oil is not very thick or greasy like coconut oil. It smells nice but the smell is potent and lingers. Although non-greasy, it requires at least two washes to get all the oil out of my hair. I am half way through the bottle and I didn't observe any noticeable difference in my hair texture or quality. However, when used with the 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner, the hair feels nice to touch. Hair care and skin care is a subjective matter, so this is just one person's opinion.

Final Verdict: 2.5/5
