FOTD: Wearable Soft Purple Smokey Eye

Hi Everyone!!

I created a look using Covergirl's Eye shadow palette in the color Blossom. I have reviewed this eye shadow palette is HERE. In this blog post I will be sharing the products I have used to come up with this look. I hope you like it.

Products used:

Foundation: Maybelline Fit me Foundation in color number 135.
Concealer: Maybelline Fit me Concealer in the color number 20, Sand.
Eye Shadow Palette: CoverGirl Eye Enhancer 4-Kit shadow in the color Blossom (Reviewed HERE)
Eyeliner: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in color 01, Black
Mascara: Lancome High Definition Mascara
Lips: Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm Stain in Watermelon Twist (Reviewed HERE)

For the eye look:

I used the pink eye shadow (No. 1) on the extreme right all over the lid. Then I used the blue indigo color (No. 2) to deepen the crease. After that I used the the mauve color (No. 3) to blend out the crease color. Then I used the light pink color to highlight under the brow bone (No. 4). I also used the blue indigo color (No. 2) on my lower lash line towards the outer half and pink eye shadow (No. 1) towards the inner half and on the tear duct.

This is the first time I used purple eye shadows. I was always afraid of purples eye shadows as I thought they would look a little garish on me. But I was happy with how wearable the look turned out to be. Obviously this is not a day look, but I think purple shadows can look beautiful for any sort of night look. You can rock it for clubbing night out or a wedding function. Purples can be great for breaking a makeup rut that any one can get into.

The whole idea of starting this blog was to experiment with makeup and to step out of my comfort zone. This little experiment validates the whole idea. I hope this inspires you to experiment with makeup and get out of your comfort zone as that is the best route to new discoveries.

Do let me know what you think about the look in the comments section below. I hope this post helped in some way or the other.
