Hi Everyone!!

Today I will be reviewing CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm Stain in color number 215, Watermelon Twist which I hauled in my Sunday Savings Follow up posts. Click HERE to read that post. I really liked the color and hence picked it up. Well, I am also guilty of getting enticed by the name too.

What Covergirl says about the product:

Twist up the color and glide on the shine. Treat your lips to a balm fortified with shea and mango butters for a smooth look with a hint of color.

What I think about the product:

Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm Stains are Covergirl's version of Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stains. These balm stains come in a twist up chubby stick format. The packaging looks nice and chic. With a silver twist up knob, metallic grey body and colored opaque cap, it looks elegant. The cap is opaque and represents the color of the lip crayon.

I picked up the color Watermelon Twist which is basically a pink color with a hint of coral in it. But when swatched, it comes off as a sheer barbie pink color which was a little disappointing as I was really looking forward for the color to be true to promise. Although, the color is build-able, still my darkly pigmented lips peek through the lip color which is unsightly. They are slightly transferable but since they are sheer in nature, it is not a big turn off. They wear very comfortably on my lips. They have a slight scent which is definitely not on the pleasant side.

The Balm Stains true to their name are moisturizing and staining in nature. Although moisturizing, my overly dry and flaky lips are not a fan of the texture of this balm stain. The color catches on to the flaky patches. The color does not blend evenly on the lips leaving weird lines and patches. From far away these things don't look bad, but up close the flaws are obvious.

My dry flaky lips with dark pigmentation really poses challenge for me to find good lip products. If you are not challenged in these areas, then by all means do try out these lips products.
