Product Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Enticing

Hi Everyone!!

In my quest to find good affordable lip colors I stumbled on Revlon's Color Burst Lacquer Balm in Enticing. I have tried their Balm Stain in Cherish and I hated it. I have also tried their Matte Balm in Complex and I was very disappointed. Lets see what this product holds for us today!

What the company has to say about the product:

High Shine Lacquer. Moisture Rich Balm
A lacquer finish that’s beyond brilliant. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors

Some of the product features:
  • Chubby Stick packaging
  • Net Wt.: 0.095oz./2.7g
  • Cost: $9 at Ulta
  • Highly pigmented
  • 10 colors
  • Contains sparkle

What I think about the product:

I tried this product in the color number 150 Enticing which is a berry red colored. It is very pigmented and lustrous. It does contain shimmer and which was a bit of a turn off initially, but after applying it on the lips I noticed that the shimmer is not even apparent. It definitely justifies the word "balm" in its name at it is very moisturizing on the lips. Although pigmented, it does not stain the lips quiet a lot. Also, it has a minty fragrance which is very apparent in the tube, but once you put it on your lips, it is barely recognizable. Although it is very moisturizing, it does not run out of the lip lines. It is transferable but may still stay through light snacking but probably not through a proper meal. That said, this is a one-step lip product. You don't need a lip liner or a lip gloss when you use this product. It is the perfect on the go lip product. But since this color is part of the red family, you cannot just slap it on without a mirror. I think this is a great product and I highly recommend it!!
Let’s talk about the packaging a little bit. I love the shiny red color of the packaging. It looks beautiful. It comes in a twist up format which is great as you don't need sharpening which further means no wastage and no hassle. But if you twist up the entire tube, then you are sure to be disappointed. The actual amount of usable product is very less as compared to the whole tube! I feel that it is such a big wastage of both the packaging material and storage space. You can probably fit almost 2 lipstick in the same space that 1 jumbo stick requires. I wonder when will the craze of jumbo sticks will be over!
